From inspiring the next generation and the development of grassroots initiatives to the changing landscape and the impact of the media, there’s no doubt women’s golf is thriving – but inequalities remain. You'll witness the tough questions answered and find out how we can all play our part to break down barriers to true equality in our beloved sport.

Sky Sport’s Iona Stephen will moderate, joined by expert voices from Gemma Dryburgh (Scotland #1 and Old Course Hotel Ambassador), Stephanie Hilborne OBE (CEO of Women in Sport) and Mia Baker (presenter and content creator). It’s sure to be a lively and thought-provoking debate, with time for questions from the floor.

Iona Stephen | Moderator

Iona Stephen is a former professional golfer and now TV broadcaster working with many of golf’s key networks including Sky Sports Golf and CBS. After a long-term wrist injury curtailed Iona’s professional playing career, her insight, personality, and energy were quickly recognised by Golf’s major networks and this has led to an exciting broadcast career. Iona has been part of the broadcast team across several of golf’s major events including The Masters, The Open Championship, The Solheim Cup as well as hosting the prize presentation at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome.

Gemma Dryburgh | Speaker

Gemma Dryburgh is the number one ranked Scottish female professional golfer (currently 79th in the Rolex Rankings) and Old Course Hotel’s Ambassador. The last two years have seen Gemma take her game to the next level, with a maiden win on the LPGA Tour and selection for the European Solheim Cup team in 2023 where she went undefeated during the week to help Europe retain the trophy for a record third time. Away from the Course, Gemma is one of six Player Directors that sit on the board of the LPGA Tour. She is also a Sports United Against Dementia Champion for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Stephanie Hilborne OBE | Speaker

Since joining Women in Sport in 2019 Steph has refreshed the charity’s strategy, increasing its relevance and its impact to key gendered social inequalities. Building on the charity’s proud 40-year history and existing strengths in insights and research, Steph has made sure the charity is tackling major policy issues to protect safety and fairness in women’s sport and has championed equal investment. She is passionate about freeing up the lives of women and girls in all their diversity to experience the joy of sport, the outdoors and active living.

Mia Baker | Speaker

Mia Baker is a passionate advocate for women in sports and is striving for a world where women are given the opportunity to pursue and enjoy all sports. In 2019, Mia discovered golf and quickly recognised the lack of inclusivity for women in the sport. She began documenting her golf journey on social media, gaining a following as she shared her experiences as a beginner. Now a presenter and content creator, Mia works to promote golf to the masses. She has also authored a children’s book, “Just Don’t Give Up!”, to inspire young golfers and athletes.
