Little luxuries

At the Old Course Hotel, thoughtful extras come with every stay.

True luxury is rarely loud. It reveals itself quietly through the details that make you exhale, settle in and feel instantly at home. This season, the hotel is celebrating the art of thoughtful hospitality with two meaningful enhancements: our newly introduced Home Comforts menu and a refined refurbishment of our guest rooms, which has elevated soft furnishings and finishing touches to a new level of quality and elegance.

From the moment guests arrive, the aim for the Old Course Hotel team is simple: to ensure every stay feels personal. The Home Comforts menu takes this one step further. Curated with care and designed to anticipate your needs, it offers a suite of special touches that bring serenity and convenience to the guest experience.

As well as practical items such as phone chargers and adapter plugs, guests can request a variety of mood-boosting extras that range from a quick electrolytes boost (or even a glass of champagne) to a soothing sheet facial mask. To nurture a sense of wellbeing, the menu also includes complimentary use of yoga mats for in-room practice and Dryrobes to wrap up in after a refreshing dip in Fife’s waters. Special wild-swimming gloves and boots are also available for purchase.

Families are thoughtfully provided for, too, with a curated selection of children’s and adult books available to help wind down after an active day exploring, plus milk and cookies for a cosy bedtime snack.

And because feeling good is as much about atmosphere as experience, we have also undertaken a considered refresh of our guest rooms focusing on the details that shape the way a space feels. New textiles introduce richer textures and calmer tones. Upholstery has been updated with fabrics chosen not only for their beauty but also for their tactile comfort. Lamps, throws, cushions and small decor pieces have been upgraded, bringing a greater sense of warmth, craftsmanship and modern Scottish character to the rooms. The result is a balance between heritage and contemporary luxury – rooms that feel serene, cocooning and unmistakably part of the Old Course Hotel’s story.

“Our goal is to ensure every guest feels seen, cared for and quietly indulged,” says general manager, Phyllis Wilkie. “Thoughtful touches aren’t extras at the Old Course Hotel – they’re the heart of the experience.”
