New Seasons of Mellow Treatments at the Home of Scottish Cuisine

Autumn is just around the corner, and the five star menu of treatments at the award winning Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews has taken on a tasty twist with three new Spa experiences designed to "relax, revive and replenish".

There is a trans-Atlantic nod to the resort's owners with the exquisite 'Bourbon On The Rocks Pedicure'. Available from October, the treatment begins with a nectar milk soak, followed by a bourbon-scented scrub and a honey glaze mask for ultimate hydration. A foot and leg massage using whoopee white velvet shea butter completes this urban bourbon delight, leaving your senses stirred … but definitely not shaken.

Come the new year, there's a genuine Scottish flavour in the air for 'Berries & Bliss'. It begins with a relaxing anti-oxidant blueberry milk foot soak followed by a sweet cream salt scrub to exfoliate and a strawberry foot mask to rehydrate dry skin. The treatment continues with a decadent leg and foot massage with chocolate serum gently drizzled on the skin, topped by a full pedicure and your choice of nail lacquers, leaving your little 'berries' nipped, shaped and beautiful for the coming season. The last of the three - also available from January 2013 - is a full body exfoliation - the 'Carmelt Me Away Body Treatment' – a sweet cream salt scrub starts the experience before being wrapped in a caramel shea butter melt. Guests are then treated to a refreshing facial that includes cleansing, exfoliation and massage of the face, neck and scalp along with a double silk brush anti-aging eye treatment. Finally, after a gentle rinse in a private shower, a sweep of caramel body milk lotion will nourish the body with rich oils and vitamins to finish the treatment.

Kohler Waters Spa Manager, Victoria Calcutt, explains the relationship between food and relaxation, saying: "Food and drink are an essential part of our everyday lives. For wellbeing, it is important that we live to eat, rather than eat to live." Victoria adds: "We have been inspired by the resort's team of outstanding chefs! Our treatments borrow this philosophy from our award-winning restaurants and replicate it in a unique collection of tempting treatments that introduce flavours, scents and textures to heighten the pleasure of our Spa experiences."

The Spa – winners of the 'Spa Treatments Award' at this year's Scottish Hotel Awards – is within The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, and open to resort guests, members and day visitors. Resort General Manager, Daniel Pereira, says: “Victoria and her team of therapists have a fabulous rapport with their customers – ensuring everyone is treated as a VIP. It is their real attention to detail that has resulted in the Spa being shortlisted for the very prestigious Good Spa Awards 2012."

Victoria concludes: "The resort is all about providing outrageous five star experiences for our customers – and our collection of new treatments continues that assurance."
