Team Up For The Belhaven Best Cup
Golfers across the UK are being invited to the opening tournament of the St Andrews golfing season with the second year of the Belhaven Best Spring Cup – a five star experience for amateur golfers.
The tournament – from Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st March 2013 at the five red star Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa - is open to teams of golfers to pit their talents against others across three days of golf.
Each day is a better ball stableford, taking in a day one at The Duke's Golf Club, one on the mighty Old Course and finishing with 18 holes at what many consider to be the finest links created in the last 50 years, Kingsbarns.
Iain Marr, Golf Development Manager at the resort, explains: "The inaugural 2012 event was a great success and we are building on the programme to provide a unique VIP experience for those willing to take on the challenge." Iain adds: "Not only will all players get to play a 54 hole tournament across the most amazing championship courses, but the weekend includes three nights of luxury accommodation together with an array of dining experiences worthy of a champion."
Lunch on Day 1 is at the award-winning Duke's Clubhouse – positioned high above St Andrews with spectacular views across the town and stunning coastline. Dinner that evening is served at the world's most famous 19th hole, The Jigger Inn, alongside the world's most famous par four, The Road Hole. Lunch on the second day is served on the hotel's fourth floor at the three AA rosette awarded Road Hole Restaurant with view over The Old Course and West Sands. The restaurant is the 'home of Scottish cuisine' in the home of golf, with a menu showcasing the very finest local, regional and Scottish produce. After the challenge of The Old Course, dinner is served in the hotel's AA Rosette Sands Grill.
On the Saturday - after a hearty Scottish breakfast at the hotel - all competitors will be teed up and ready for the final 18 holes at Kingsbarns. The course frequently ranks in the top 100 worldwide – and is currently Golf Magazine's 54th pick as the best. Lunch is served at the clubhouse and, by Sunday evening, the winners of the 2013 Belhaven Best Spring Cup will be the stars of the show at an awards' ceremony and dinner top be held in the Road Hole Restaurant in the iconic Old Course Hotel.
Iain concludes: "This package is unique. It mixes the very best golf and the very finest dining experiences in the home of golf – and we can't wait to welcome the 2013 contenders."
