New Marketing & PR Appointment at The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa

Allan Paterson has been appointed Assistant Marketing & PR Manager at the five red star resort in St Andrews, working with Deborah Rose.

Allan joins the hotel from The Torridon, where he was Marketing Co-ordinator for the past two years, and is working with Deborah on delivering the marketing and pr requirements, primarily in support of the resort's sales and events teams. Allan is "thrilled" to join the hotel in the Home of Golf, explaining: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Torridon – it was a fantastic springboard that has enabled me to consider this move – and I relish the challenge of working at a multi-award winning destination that offers guests such an incredible array of accommodation, dining experiences and event venues."

Allan's role also takes on the planning and delivery of the resort's social media – an area in which he has great experience. Deborah Rose explains: "We are in a rapidly changing world where our guests live and work in different time zones around the world. They expect communication to be delivered to suit their lifestyles. The opportunities for improved engagement with our guests, friends and suppliers - be they local, Scottish, pan European or global - is a unique and exciting challenge, and it will be a core focus of Allan's role."

A marketing graduate of Strathclyde University and a Saltire Foundation intern, Allan has taken a keen interest in the Scottish tourism and hospitality market since his time as a student. He says: "The real attraction of The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa is that it is an iconic Kohler resort with an incredible history. The company's plans for the resort, including the development of Hamilton Grand overlooking the Old Course, make it the most exciting marketing and PR opportunity in Scotland and I am delighted to be a part of the team that will help to tell that story."
