How do I get to the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa?

Just off the A91, immediately adjacent to the St Andrews Links courses and a five-minute walk from the heart of the town. The A91 joins with the national motorway network at Junction 8 of the M90, which runs from Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, one hour to the south to the old market town of Perth in the north. Glasgow is 90 minutes away, via the M90 and M8.

BY AIR
Regular domestic flights (1-hour flight time from London) and European services to Edinburgh Airport. Regular service from London City to Dundee Airport (20 minutes drive). Transatlantic flights land at Glasgow Airport (120 minutes to the north). Private aircraft can land at Leuchars Airforce Base (5 minutes drive) by prior arrangement. Aircraft up to Boeing 737s can land here, and it is possible to have customs and immigration facilities.

BY HELICOPTER
The hotel has its own helipad where guests can land by prior arrangement. Please contact the concierge with your details.

BY RAIL
Guests arrive at Leuchars Railway Station four miles away, which connects with Edinburgh and the national network. Regular services to London and all mainland UK station and to the rest of Europe by Eurostar and the Channel Tunnel.

Our chauffeur service will be delighted to meet you at your chosen arrival point and can make arrangements for any onward connections. Please advise us of your travel arrangements at the time of booking.

What time is check-in and checkout?
To ensure that your room is just right for your arrival, we request that guests check in from 3pm. Of course, we’ll be happy to store your luggage until your room is ready. If you arrive early, join us for lunch or use the spa facilities. On the day of departure, please vacate your room by noon.

What weather should I expect during my stay in St Andrews?
St Andrews enjoys some of the best weather in the whole of the UK. Its sheltered location on the Fife Coast makes it drier and sunnier than many more southerly British destinations. However, when the wind blows in from the sea, you’ll find the comfort of a waterproof jacket will keep any chill out.

Where can I access an Internet connection?
We have a wireless connection in all hotel bedrooms, meeting rooms and public areas. An email centre is also available adjacent to reception.

What outdoor activities are available?
We can arrange a wide range of activities and experiences in St Andrews and the surrounding areas. Suggestions include archery, falconry, fishing, horse riding, local tours, seaplane journeys and theatre trips.

What is available to see in St Andrews?
St Andrews is renowned worldwide for golf; however, this bustling university town has much more to offer. Full of history and dramatic architecture, St Andrews’ streets are lined with bars, cafes, antique shops and boutiques. Activities include cycling routes, jogging routes, beach walks and Fife Coastal walks. For children there is West Sands Beach, the St Andrews Aquarium and kite flying.

What is there to see and do in the surrounding areas?
St Andrews makes the ideal base for sightseeing. Crail Pottery, Falkland Palace, Scone Palace, Glamis Castle and the fishing villages of the East Neuk are all within easy reach.
